Here is an introduction to the styles of yoga that I work with. There is a selection of public classes available each week at my practice space, but I also work with 1-2-1 clients and regular yoga classes at offices and corporate organisations throughout the week. Our Yin Yoga classes consists of a series of long-held, passive (still) and seated floor poses that mainly work the lower part of the body—the hips, pelvis, inner thighs, lower spine. These areas are especially rich in connective tissues. If our connective tissue and muscles are not stimulated, it can become hard and this can lead to stiffness and staggered energy flow. Unlike vinyasa based yoga, Yin yoga postures - asanas - are held for longer periods of time—for beginners, it may range from 45 seconds to two minutes; more advanced practitioners may stay in one asana for five minutes or more.
While using a vast variety of props, such as bolsters, blocks and pillows we aim for 100% comfort in each pose. Calming and re-setting our central nervous system, healing from the inside. Restorative Yoga lower blood pressure, helps to reduce the production of cortisol and other stress hormones. The class is designed to calm you down and re-set mind and body.
Morning Mix Classes
The morning mix session combines the flow and fun from a tradition dynamic yoga practice and the longer held deep stretches found in Yin. It’s a class specially designed to wake you up and give that energy boost you need to start the right.
Yummy Mummy Yin stretch Classes
A Yin Yoga class with deep, long held stretches and the invitation of a grounding breath, relaxing and restoring. Your baby is welcome to this class in a car seat or carry cot. Please note the baby will not participate in the class, but the little ones are welcome in the studio while mummy practice.
